Grand Canyon National Park

Go Camping To One Of The Most Amazing Geologic Landscapes

At Phoenix Pop Up Campers we love to write about camping in national parks and all the great outdoor activities you can do on those places. Today we would like to talk about the Grand Canyon National Park, which is located in the Colorado Plateau in northwestern Arizona. The Grand Canyon is one of the most studied geologic landscapes in the world and it is considered a geologic wonder. The park has an enormous area of 1,218,375 acres and it averages 4,000 feet deepness for its entire 277 miles. At its deepest point, the canyon is 6,000 feet deep and measures 15 miles across at its widest point.

Hiking the Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon was formed thanks to the erosion caused by the Colorado River and it’s the home of over 1,500 plant species, 355 birds, 89 mammals, 47 reptiles, 9 amphibians, and 17 fish species. To camp in your custom truck camper you can make reservations in 2 campgrounds in the park, one on each side of the rim: the Mather Campground on the South Rim in Grand Canyon Village, or the North Rim Campground.
