Celebrate Independence Day camping in your custom Phoenix camper!
The most iconic day of our Nation’s history is upon us! And what better way to celebrate it than hitting the road and camping with your Phoenix Pop Up? As it turns out, there many places across the country where the Independence Day Celebrations are well worth the trip there.
Travel + Leisure made a survey among its readers to determine the best towns to spend the 4th of July. These are the top 5 picks, but you can read about the other 15 in the original article and choose your destination to celebrate one more year of freedom!
1- Flagstaff, AZ
This Arizona town won the medal of honor in T+L’s Independence Day contest for its town squares and the centerpiece of its July 4th celebration: a parade through downtown along with fireworks, a fun run, a concert by the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, and “Flagstaff Art in the Park”.
2- Bend, OR
This town offers a creative celebration of the Fourth that includes an all-day party in Drake Park with old-fashioned gunnysack races, hula-hoop contests, and, the July 4th Pet Parade.
3- Lahaina, HI
Fireworks and other holiday festivities tend to be spontaneous here, as locals typically have potlucks on the beach. The town received strong scores for both its barbecue and gorgeous weather.
4- Newton, PA
Newtown throws a charmingly small-town-style party: its First Fourth! The celebration includes a parade and ends with fireworks at the local middle school, the only catch is that it’s done on the 5th.
5- Boulder, CO
The July 4th festivities downtown include a bike rodeo, a fun run, and a beer garden. The biggest fireworks show, Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast, shoots out from the Colorado University stadium and features the school’s live mascot, Ralphie the Buffalo. Boulder also ranked near the top of the survey for its quirky locals and its delicious burgers.
So, no matter where you choose to celebrate our nation’s anniversary, we hope you have a great time with your friends and family!
