“Stayed toasty warm even in a 7 degree night”

“We’ve already been out 4 times this year. Three were up to WV in the snow. Stayed toasty warm even in a 7 degree night with just a small electric under-desk heater. Furnace is also working great. We used it this weekend when we went remote camping in WV. The fourth trip was down along the coast. This is a picture of us in the snow at the campground at Canaan Valley State Park WV. Feel free to use it if you want. Note the icicles coming off the top. This was the warm weekend. The first time we were up there this year, it was 7 deg in the AM and never got above 12.” – Thanks, Dave

On March 23rd, we headed down to Albuquerque, NM, to meet Mitch and deliver his new Phoenix Camper. Little did we know that the 6 1/2 hr trip was going to turn into a 10 hr drive through blizzard conditions in Colorado and extreme wind once we crossed over to New Mexico. Luckily we avoided some close calls in Colorado with highway pile ups and not getting blown off the road like some fifth wheels and tractor trailers. Despite the conditions, we cruised right through, just a little slower than expected.

Unfortunately we did not get to spend much time with Mitch and his friend Tom, due to the extra time spent driving and with both parties needing to return to our respective homes. In the short time we did have, however, we enjoyed getting to know the man who will be using his new camper as his home-away-from-home while competing in the Bassmasters Open Bass Fishing Tournament Series.

After having his camper for a week he has been busy getting it, his truck and his boat all blinged out and ready for the season!

Phoenix Pop Up wishes Mitch all the best this season and we look forward to a wonderful and prosperous partnership for us both!

Everyday we are asked if trucks need air bags, springs or Timbren suspension kits, when adding the weight of a camper to their truck. There is no clear cut answer. This article can help with answering some of those questions.

“Hi Rob and Cari, We installed the camper into our 1942 Dodge military 4X4 today. Wendy was biting her nails about the fit. But everything fit perfect!  It even has a little wiggle room. We are very pleased. We are just now getting to know the camper and how to get in and out with two little people.  It will be great. Attached are a couple photos. We’ll send some more as we get it out and use it. I’ll try and get some photo’s with better background soon. Thanks for all you help. What a fun project.” – Jeff and Wendy

Base Camp

“I just spent the last week living out of the camper in Hylite canyon in Montana. It made a excellent ice climbing base camp for me and my friend. It was so nice to ice climb all day and then hike down to a nice warm, dry camper home. There were a lot of very jealous climbers checking out the rig on their way to their soggy tents and snow caves!”
